pre-demolition this summer

Beautiful. (We still miss Schneider fries over here in the magazine office.)

OMG! THIS IS GETTING DEMOLISHED?!?!? Its one of my favorite buildings!!!!

It’s not getting demolished, it’s being renovated. Mostly to make it handicap accessible and do some general fixing up. So there will be construction for a few months.

Wow, this got so much more attention than I was expecting, thanks everyone! (I’m the OP). To clarify, that “pre-demolition this summer” line was a little misleading. I received an email as part of the petition going around a few days ago that demolishment on Schneider (not Billings) would begin on June 10th. That source hasn’t been verified yet. According to kbot’s plan, it’s just a “full renovation.” Regardless, I took the pictures because Schneider was particularly beautiful on Thursday, and the rooms when renovated and/or demolished will probably never look the same again, for better or for worse.
